TEXTURE
A Textured carpet is one of the most popular and well known. It is a cut pile carpet with tight crimps and alternating twists. This creates a casual and super soft feel. It is also known for hiding footprints and vacuum marks. This construction comes at multiple price points to fit the style and budget of anyone. It will hold up to heavy traffic and active families.
Saxony
Saxony carpet is dense and elegant. It looks like velvet and feels as soft. The yarn is level cut, with equal twists, and heat set for a uniform finish. This carpet has an expensive look and feel. Saxony is not recommended for high traffic areas since it will likely show footprints and vacuum marks.
Twist/Frieze
The Twist, also known as Frieze, is a cut style with tight twists that bend away from each other and slightly curl at the end. It has a textured surface look, highly durable, and good for active areas in the home. This carpet is the best choice for hiding footprints and common markings. It can also be a good choice for commercial projects.
Cable
This carpet style is thick, long, and twisty. The yarn is cut at a variety of lengths. It is soft to walk on, but not good for high activity rooms, hallways, or stairs, due to its tendency for it to crush beneath the feet.
Loop
A Loop carpet is an uncut yarn that creates a durable surface. It is easy to clean, holds up to wear, and lasts a long time. Since seams are more likely to be visible, it may not be a good choice for stairs.
Cut & Loop
Cut & Loop combines both cut and uncut loops to create patterns and textures. These styles can come in one color or in multiple colors. The advantages are they offer many different styles and looks, whether a contemporary and formal space is in mind. This construction of carpet can disguise stains and withstands wear.

SELECTING VINYL

Resilient is the name given to products like linoleum, vinyl, rubber & other non-textile floorings because of the substantial nature & ability to flex or “give” a little when walked on. Resilient flooring has been around for a long time. Linoleum, the oldest type of resilient, has been in existence for over 150 years! For exploring these floorings, you can simply visit Regal Hardwood, a supplier of flooring with the lowest formaldehyde emissions, whether wood or vinyl. All our wood is legally harvested from managed forests where wood is replanted.

This type of flooring has advanced leaps & bounds, offering an endless array of colors & patterns. You can find styles like upscale ceramic, wood & the intricate designs of stone & marble. Resilient comes in a full range of finishes, embossed & printed with such precision that they look & feel like the real thing!

For protection, resilient flooring is being made with urethane, including aluminum oxide particles, the same harsh topcoat used in wear layers now used for woods & laminate. This makes these new resilient floors easy to clean up & resistant to scratching. You can also explore the collection present at Karndean Flooring, one of the best in this field. From Europe’s ancient forests to the remote Australian outback & beyond, they seek out expressive & intriguing forms in the natural world to influence their unique floor designs. By combining these original features with cutting edge design, Karndean Flooring creates simply beautiful floors that you’ll love for a lifetime.

SHEET VINYL AND LUXURY VINYL TILES

Sheet Vinyl comes in an endless variety of designs & colors, is low in cost, easy to maintain, durable & water-resistant. It comes in a 6-foot & 12-foot width. The 12-foot has become a popular option because it helps to eliminate seams. Sheet vinyl can be self-installed, but it takes a lot of precision & a skilled installer is highly recommended. Sheet vinyl is made with waterproof materials, such as PVC, which makes this flooring option perfect for the home’s water-prone areas. Sheet vinyl is an excellent fit for any room in your home, but it exceeds expectations in the kitchen, laundry room, basement & bathrooms.

LVT stands for Luxury Vinyl Tile – a product that looks like real wood & stone flooring but provides many more practical benefits. You can create an authentic-looking floor in your home, without the practical drawbacks of natural products, available in a range of shapes, sizes & effects. For selecting the best Luxury Vinyl Tiles, consider Dixie Home, a supplier of carpet & luxury vinyl that has experienced rapid growth & enthusiastic market acceptance for its stylishly designed tufted broadloom carpets that fall within more moderately priced high-style segments residential market.

Luxury Vinyl Tile is at the high end of resilient flooring. It has superior performance & looks so authentic that it can be difficult to distinguish as a vinyl product. The high definition imaging & treated surface texture mimics its natural counterpart.

IN A NUTSHELLOur services

Make arrangements prior to the arrival of the installation crew for removal of old flooring.

This flooring requires only basic maintenance. Spills and messes are easily wiped up. Regular sweeping and occasional damp mopping with a manufacturer recommended non-abrasive cleaner will eliminate dust particles. After Installation

24 HOURS

For the first 24 hours, do not put furniture or heavy objects down and avoid walking on newly installed floors as much as possible, especially on the seams.
MATS
Cover your entryways with non-staining mats to reduce the amount of dirt, sand, and oil that could be tracked in. Avoid mats that have a rubber backing as this may cause damage or discolor your flooring.
SHOES
Take your shoes off at the door! Be sure to wear slippers or socks. Your feet have oil on them that will transfer onto the floor.
PROTECTORS
Cover your furniture legs with floor protectors that are made of hard plastic or felt.
HANGING OBJECTS
Remove all hanging objects in the area of installation.
ELECTRONICS
Disconnect and move electronics, appliances or computers.
AREA
We will need access to a location to store and cut flooring materials.
PATTERN & LAYOUT
If you have a preference for the direction of the pattern or layout of your flooring, you will need to discuss it with our Experts at the time of the purchase. Many of the styles require additional material to achieve the closest match possible.

ROUTINE CARE

VACUUM
Vacuum or sweep regularly to remove loose dirt. Use a vacuum without a beater bar to avoid scratching your floor.
CLEANING
When further cleaning is needed, use a mop with warm water. Use water by itself or use a manufacturer recommended cleaning product. It should be a cleaner that rinses clean. Many cleaners can leave behind a sticky residue that will act like a dirt magnet and allow dirt to build up on your flooring.
CLEANSERS
Use non-abrasive cleansers or scrubbing pads on your resilient floor to avoid scratches.
STAINS
To prevent stains, wipe up spills immediately. Use a non-abrasive scrubbing pad for stubborn stains that are caused by these: Mustard, ink, permanent marker, asphalt, shoe polish, mold, mildew or hair dye.
WASTE
The installation crew will remove all waste pertaining to the installation of your new flooring.
CLEANING
It is the customer's responsibility to clean the flooring after installation.
VENTILATION
Allow proper ventilation for 72 hours after your flooring installation by utilizing fans.
CAUTIOUS
While your new floor is of the highest quality, it is still subject to everyday wear. So be cautious.

While your new carpet is of the highest quality, it is still subject to everyday wear. Everyday Wear & Tear

Sprouting
If loose ends or "sprouts" extend above the rest of the pile, trim them off evenly with the pile surface. Never try to pull them out. After clipping, smooth the area with your fingers. Sharp edges on your vacuum cleaner, a child's toy, high heels or animal claws can cause this condition.
Pile Crushing
All carpet fibers will crush under heavy, stationary loads. Crushing can be reduced by shifting furniture regularly. Crushed areas can usually be restored by covering the area with a damp, clean white cloth and then very carefully applying heat to the cloth with an electric iron on a low setting. Remove the cloth and restore the pile while it is still hot by brushing it lightly. Keep traffic off the carpet until it is dry.
Shading
After certain carpet styles have been subjected to traffic, you may notice areas that appear lighter or darker than other areas. Don't be alarmed! Shading is the result of the change in direction of the pile due to pressure from the footsteps and vacuuming. Brushing the pile all in one direction may temporarily correct shading; however, shading is part of the carpet styling and should be expected to varying degrees. Do not mistake shading for color fading.
Pile Distortion/Roll Crush
When carpet is manufactured, inspected, handled and shipped, it is rolled and unrolled many times. A common problem called pile distortion or roll crush can occur when this happens. It can be corrected only after the carpet is installed.
