What is Travertine Flooring?

Travertine Flooring
This flooring made of a type of limestone that can be left in its natural state and does not require polishing. It is a sedimentary rock formed from calcareous remains of plants and animals or precipitated from solution.

One of several natural stones that are used for paving patios and garden paths. It is sometimes known as travertine limestone or marble. It comes in a variety of colors from grey to coral-red and is most commonly available in tile sizes for floor and wall installations.
Travertine Care

This stone flooring absorbs oils and other liquids and easier to stain than marble, so sealing after installation is a must. It can have four major finishes: polished (shiny), honed (matte), brushed and tumbled (textured surfaces). The type of finish given to it will determine how shiny the surface will be. All Travertine should only be cleaned with a neutral PH cleaner.
